Young People of the Year in Hertfordshire

Hertfordshire Police Authority is one of several organisations sponsoring the Young People of the Year in Hertfordshire Awards.

Everywhere nowadays young people are being condemned. It's almost as if every one of them is a 'binge-drinking, drug-taking, violent hoody'. Yet the truth is most young people are good. Many are amazing and don't get the respect they deserve.

Young People of the Year or 'YOPEY' - Reveals, Recognises and Rewards Young Unsung Heroes and sets them up as Positive Role Models.

The competition is deliberately broad. Nominations are invited for young people involved in any of the following:

Caring for others who may be ill, disabled or have other problems;

Helping run a youth club or other organisation;

Looking after abandoned or neglected animals;

Making communities safer through initiative or behaviour;

Raising money for charity or other good causes;

Showing a spirit in adversity that is an example to others;

Supporting someone through a difficult time;

Volunteering for projects at home or abroad;

Working with disabled, ill or elderly people.

For more information and nominations, click on the Letter and Nomination Form below or go to the website at www.yopey.org.
