HAS SOMEONE YOU KNOW HELPED TO MAKE HERTFORDSHIRE A SAFER PLACE TO LIVE?
FOR the second year running, people who have helped to make their neighbourhoods safer places to live will be congratulated at a special awards ceremony later this year– and residents are invited to nominate the people that deserve these accolades.
The Safer Neighbourhoods Awards were launched this week by Hertfordshire Police Authority.
As last year, there will district/borough heat winners in four different categories, two for members of the public and two for neighbourhood officers. The overall county winners will be announced at a ceremony in June 2008, where all the winners will receive their prizes.
Chair of Hertfordshire Police Authority, Ian Laidlaw-Dickson, said: “There is so much good work going on in the county and we want to publicly recognise and acknowledge the selfless contribution made by members of the public and the often unsung work undertaken by our local Neighbourhood Teams.”
If you know someone who has helped to make Hertfordshire an even safer place, nominate them today for the following categories:
Community Safety Award (for people who have made an outstanding contribution towards community safety)
HertsWatch Award (for outstanding contributions to Neighbourhood and other Watch schemes in the county)
Police Community Support Officer of the Year
Neighbourhood Police Officer of the Year
The closing date for nominations is 28th March 2008. Nomination forms are available online at www.herts-police-authority.org.uk or you can email enquiries.hpa@herts.pnn.police.uk or phone the Police Authority 01992 556600.
Residents, community safety partners and police employees are eligible to nominate for the awards. Judging panels include senior local police officers, Police Authority members and an independent person.
