  APPOINTMENT OF INDEPENDENT MEMBERS

We’re looking for three local people who are passionate about shaping local policing to make Hertfordshire an even safer county.

The Police Authority, comprising 17 members, is the watchdog for local policing. It reflects and represents the communities of Hertfordshire by setting the priorities, targets and budget for the Force.

The role is fascinating, challenging and very rewarding. Members engage with the police, local bodies and the public and do whatever else is necessary to improve policing.We are an inclusive body and would welcome applications from anyone who lives or works within the county.

Key Information

At least one day a week time commitment - many members do more.

   

Paid allowances starting at £4,784 pa, with more paid dependent on roles held in the Authority.

   

Reasonable expenses paid, including child and other care allowances.

   

Appointment period from 1 October 2008 to 31 March 2013.
