  Freedom of Information / Introduction

The Police Authority is committed to making as much information as possible available to the public. The Freedom of Information Act requires every Authority to produce a Publication Scheme, which sets out what ‘classes’ of information it will make available, whether the information is available in electronic form or paper copies and whether or not it is available free of charge. Most information provided by the Police Authority is freely available on this web site or available from the Police Authority office free of charge for single copies.

The Publication Scheme is broken down into two parts.

Part 1 explains what the Police Authority does, the aims of the Publication Scheme, how it forms part of the Freedom of Information Act and what your rights are under that Act.

Part 2 is a list of ‘classes’ or groups and types of information that we make readily available.
